BANGKOK (AFP) - Thai stocks are expected to fall next week as persistent worries over the global economy dampen market sentiment, an analyst said Friday.
"The market is likely to fall next week. The sentiment may be gloomier. We see no positive factors coming to help lift the index," said Pichai Lertsupongkit, senior vice president at Thanchart Securities.
"Investors are just waiting to follow the direction on Wall Street and maybe news from the central bank about interest rates on February 25," he said.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) fell 11.10 points or 2.49 percent over the past week to close at 434.67.
