Bangkok - Lehman Brothers bankruptcy possibly has an impact on American International Group (AIG) according to KBank’s capital market and economic research center.
A large financial institution like AIG was likely to face liquidity problem since the US government made AIG mobilize funds from the private sector.
It was estimated that Asian region as well as Thailand could be affected in terms of funds raising.
The US Federal Reserve will call a meeting tonight to seek measures to serve the financial crisis.
Funds will be mobilized to liquidate Lehman Brothers.
Kongkiat Opaswongkarn, president of Asia Plus Securities Plc, said liquidity problem would take place worldwide.
He agreed to President Bush’s policy which did not interfere in the stock and financial market.
