Energy plans to raise gas capacity, number of NGV stations

Bangkok - Energy ministry targets to increase the natural gas capacity to 5,465 tons per day and the number of NGV stations to 355.

Energy Minister Poonpirom Liptapanlop revealed the number of NGVs rose twofold compared to the same period of last year.

There are currently more than 80,000 NGVs on the road.

The natural gas capacity will be boosted to 5,465 tons per day while the number of NGV stations will be increased to 355.

There were 214 NGV stations last month, but the number will be raised to 245 this month.

To deal with time-consuming problem, the NGV stations will be divided into three groups for cars, taxis and trucks.

There are now 496 gas trucks and the number will be increased to 933 at the end of the year.

The domestic gas demand is 100,000 cylinders per year.
