Bangkok - Most people reduced their spendings during the Euro 2008 football tournament, according to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC)’s Ecomomic and Business Forecast Center.
1,000 respondents were survey nationwide.
The spending figures decreased up to 20% compared to the past two years’ figures.
This reflects Thai economy is delayed.
More than 33 billion baht are expected to bet on football during this season.
Spending on consumer products and party increased only 4.8%.
60.7% viewed Thai economy was in the bad condition.
The number of football viewers dropped up to 40.2%, according to the survey.
