BANGKOK (AFP) October 02, 2005 - Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday condemned the deadly bombings on the Indonesian resort island of Bali as an "inhumane act of terrorism."
"I am deeply shocked and outraged by the terrorist bombings in Bali yesterday, which claimed so many innocent lives and injured hundreds," Thaksin said in a letter to Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"The Royal Thai Government strongly condemns this heinous and inhumane act of terrorism," he said.
"On behalf of the government and the people of Thailand, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy through you to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery for the injured," he said.
"Thailand reaffirms our solidarity with Indonesia in our common goal to combat terrorism," he said.
At least 26 people were killed and more than 100 were injured when the bombs exploded on Saturday evening.
