BANGKOK, March 11 (AFP) - A fugitive Dane who faces arson, rape, murder and drugs charges in his home country has been arrested in Thailand, police said Friday.
Jensson Leon Erling Frisstrup, 58, was arrested at Bangkok International Airport late Thursday after Sweden's embassy, acting on behalf of Scandinavian nations, notified immigration police that his Danish passport had been revoked, police said.
Frisstrup had fled to Thailand and was living with a Thai woman in the beach resort town of Pattaya, police said.
He faces the minor charge of overstaying his visa in Thailand, punishable by a fine, before he can be extradited to Denmark, police said. The extradition process should take at least 10 days to complete.
Danish embassy officials were not reachable for comment.
