ยอดขายญี่ปุ่น นินเทนโดครองแชมป์ช่วงสิ้นปี

ตารางอันดับเกมขายดีในญี่ปุ่นจาก Media Create ควบสองสัปดาห์ล่าสุด เครื่องฝั่งนินเทนโดยังคงมาแรงต่อเนื่องตามกระแสช่วงวันหยุดปลายปี ขณะที่ฝั่งโซนีเองก็ตีตื้นขึ้นมาในช่วงปีใหม่ซึ่งเด็กๆ เริ่มนำเงินของขวัญใส่ซองออกมาใช้จ่ายกัน

ที่ควงคู่กันมาในอันดับหนึ่งและสองคือเกมจับมอนสเตอร์ "โยไควอช" และ "โปเกมอน" ต่อด้วยเกมไฟติ้งตะลุมบอน "สแมชบราเธอร์" กลายเป็นสามเกมหัวตารางที่ผ่านหลักสองล้านชุดทั้งหมด ส่วนฝั่งฮาร์ดแวร์ก็เป็น 3DS ที่ชนะขาดด้วยยอดรวมหลักแสน แต่ถ้านับเฉพาะคอนโซลก็ยังเบียดกันสูสีระหว่างเพลย์สเตชัน 4 กับ Wii U

ในปีใหม่นี้ ทาง Media Create ยังได้ยกเลิกการรายงานยอดขายคอนโซล Xbox360 ซึ่งมี Xbox One เข้ามาแทนที่ เช่นเดียวกับเครื่องพกพา PSP ที่ทางโซนีประกาศเลิกผลิตไปพักใหญ่แล้ว
