ที่ปางช้าง @elephentpridesanctuary เราได้รับประสบการณ์แสนพิเศษไปกับกิจวัตรประจำวันของช้าง…ซึ่งหลักๆ ก็คือการกินนั่นเอง! 😄🥬 บางคนอาจกังวลเรื่องสัญชาตญาณของสัตว์ป่า ยังไงก็ตามที่เราสามารถเข้าใกล้ช้างได้ขนาดนี้ก็เพราะว่าช้างเหล่านี้เป็นช้างที่ถูกเลี้ยงเพื่อใช้งานมาก่อน ซึ่งตอนนี้เกษียณอายุและไม่มีที่ไป นี่คือการอยู่อย่างถ้อยทีถ้อยอาศัย ช้างเหล่านี้ไม่ต้องทนการฝึกด้วยการถูกลงโทษให้กลัวอีกแล้ว แต่กลายเป็นฝึกด้วยการให้รางวัลแทน ซึ่งโดยหลักพื้นฐานนั้นการเสริมแรงทางบวกจะดีกว่าทางลบอยู่แล้ว ที่นี่เราสามารถสัมผัสถึงความเคารพซึ่งกันและกันได้อย่างชัดเจน ช้างและคนยืนอยู่บนพื้นดินในระดับเดียวกัน อยู่ร่วมกันโดยไม่ทำร้ายกันและกัน การได้ใช้เวลากับช้างและชาวบ้านกลางหุบเขาที่สวยงามแห่งนี้นับเป็นช่วงเวลาที่แสนพิเศษจริงๆ ถ้ามีโอกาสมาเยี่ยมพวกเขากันได้ที่เชียงใหม่นะคะ และอย่าลืมสนับสนุน #การท่องเที่ยวเชิงอนุรักษ์ อย่าลืมเป็นผู้ #บริโภคอย่างมีสติ ขอบคุณ @elephentpridesanctuary สำหรับประสบการณ์ที่น่าจดจำและเป็นประโยชน์กับสิ่งที่แสนสง่างามเหล่านี้ 🍃💙 #ช้าง #ความภาคภูมิใจของไทย #สัญลักษณ์ประจำชาติ At the @elephantpridesanctuary, we had a great experience with elephants in their daily routines…which mainly consists of eating! 😄 🌱 🥬 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some may argue against interaction with wild animals, however the reason we could be so up-close with these elephants is because they used to be working elephants — now retired and with no place to go, this is arguably a compromise. The elephants are no longer trained by punishment training but rather with rewards. Reward-based training is much preferred compared to the once conventional method based on punishment and fear (in which the elephants suffer a great deal). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At Elephant Pride a sense of mutual respect was clear. The elephant and the people were on equal ground, surviving together and not being mistreated. Had a great time with the Karen villagers and their elephants in the beautiful valley. Visit them in Chiang Mai if you ever have the opportunity!
